In the 1960s, Hong Kong Wing Wah applied itself to the development of its cake manufacturing business. It was reorganised into a limited company and set up its first manufacturing plant in Hong Kong. Automated production equipment was introduced for continuous enhancement on the quality of products. In the 70s, Hong Kong Wing Wah started to expand the business by opening its retail stores across Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories. Besides the local market, it started selling mooncakes to over 100 major countries and cities, such as Mainland, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia, exploring the international market. In the 80s, Hong Kong Wing Wah made its way into the mainland market. After all these years, Hong Kong Wing Wah Cake Shop has diligently shared traditional Chinese food to the world through its Wing Wah Mooncake. Hong Kong Wing Wah and The Community Chest of Hong Kong have jointly promoted the “Mooncakes for Charity” for fundraising since 1990. Funds raised have been donated to The Community Chest Member Social Welfare Agencies in order to help the needy in society.
Hong Kong Wing Wah collaborated with the “Partners Education Foundation Limited” in organizing the “Real Boss” Business Competition. The event aimed to give practical marketing experience to local secondary school students, thereby nurturing their business skills through opportunities to put classroom knowledge into practice.
